This move affects all global studios.
Part of the announcement:
Hello Everyone,
Today I want to share the result of a collective reflection about how we work together at Ubisoft, and more precisely on our hybrid work model.
Over the last few years, we gathered useful insights and feedback on how to implement hybrid work in the best way for us.
…
Therefore, in consultation with the entire executive committee, and all entity, production zone and studio leaders, we want to evolve our hybrid work model, targeting a minimum of three days per week at the office. A third of our global teams are already following this model, and our objective is to now align the rest of the group.

I’ve tried to strip some corporate jargon that essentially states: the company claims the policy aims to improve creativity, teamwork, and “efficiency,” especially for new employees learning company tools and processes.
I can’t completely argue with that, there are benefits to collaborating in the office. However, this imposed shift may impact the workforce. Then again, we’re in an era where employees don’t have much say and just carry on, hoping for improvements in the future.
What I can say for certain is that we’ll be seeing more of this in the coming weeks and months. The same hybrid model has already been enforced in many software development companies.
