Steam has yet again smashed its own record for concurrent players online, 37.2 million yesterday. This milestone surpasses the previous record of 36 million set in March.
Leading the charge is Counter-Strike 2, followed by the surprise hit, Black Myth: Wukong, and of course Dota 2 and PUBG after.
As a 30-year-old boomer gamer, it’s really nice to see the PC market thriving again. I’m not a console hater by any means, and I do love the portability of gaming on the go (Switch, ROG Ally, Steam Deck). Just like how there are certain games that play better on the couch or handheld, there are certain games that truly shine when played at a desk, on a good monitor.
