I have a (bad) habit of buying more books than necessary, especially when they’re on sale or there are books that I’ve been eyeing them for some time. It might be a bit of consumerism or a vice, or both but I’ve come to terms with it. I embrace it.
On With The Sale
Going back to Steam and their recurring sales.
The current highlight is the Steam Spring Sale, showcasing a lot of great deals for many top-tier games, spanning indiscriminate from classics to the latest hits.
The sale started on March 14 and is set to conclude on March 21, giving us a week to decide if we want to add some more games in the backlog.
Here goes some of our recommendations, both classic and latest hits, and some of my favourite genre, survival:
The Top Tier

Baldur's Gate 3 - 10%
Yes, it was only a 10% discount. But this game stands out. I played it right after it won the Game of the Year Award and I remember thinking, "This definitely deserves the award." The game, with its gameplay polish, great attention to detail, and frequent updates, really sets a high standard.

Wicher 3 - 75%
Witcher 3 will always have a special place in my heart. It's the first game I played in my 30's, after years of taking a break from gaming. Needless to say, playing the entire time with highest difficulty, no HUD or minimap sits there in my top 3 immersive gameplays of my life.

Metro Exodus - 80%
The main critique for this game revolves around the number of cutscenes. While they don't disrupt the gameplay, the initial dialogues can feel a bit excessive. However, the gameplay, graphics, sound effects, and character development are all exceptional. And personally, I enjoy the character dialogues in a game.
Survival Genre

Valheim - 40%
With over 100 hours of playtime, my only regret is that I don't have more time to play this game. Favourite things to do here is build a shelter and then build another shelter and so on.

Raft - 33%
I first played Raft during its early-access phase years ago and revisited it after the official 1.0 release. I'm definitely going back to it whenever I find some free time because it's just that that good. Even in its early access, the game provided a truly enjoyable experience.
Other Recommendations

Stardew Valley - 20%
The reason I started this blog. Stardew Valley is an amazing game. it really opened my eyes to how much I enjoy returning to pixel art games.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition - 70%
If Baldur's Gate 3 still seems pricey, DOS2 offers a worthwhile experience. I suggest playing it first, as BG 3 feels superior in every way afterward. Just be mindful of potential burnout!

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - 50%
Age of Empires II is a timeless classic, and seeing the amount of content and its evolution over the years reignites my passion for the gaming industry.

Left 4 Dead 2- 90%
No reason needed not to buy any Valve game when it's discounted.
Games I Have Yet To Play (Watchlist)

Half-Life: Alyx -66%
Alyx often makes it onto many lists for its excellence in VR gaming. What I can add, is that it's the reason I bought a Quest 3 and I don't want it being the reason I will write here less.

Sunkenland- 20%
Water, survival, early access? Sign me up!

Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition - 33%
The main critique is it's similarities with Age II, for me, that's a selling point.

Subnautica: Below Zero - 67%
Same same, but different. But the same, but different. Haven't played Bellow Zero yet, heard it builds over the first one. I do not need to spoil myself with more info because I am already sold!

Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition - 85%
Strangely, I haven't played Mass Effect yet, so it's on my watchlist.

No Man's Sky - 50%
Again, I can say the same about this game. It's the game I never played yet I know every gossip and news about it.

The Forest - 75%
Survival, horror, elements, it could become a guilty pleasure.
